Welcome!
All Hail the New Flesh is a "graphic essay"in five parts. It was developed for a graduate seminar in
feminist composition and rhetoric during the Fall 2016 term at CSU Sacramento. The "graphic essay"
serves as a keyword project exploring the term, "cyborg" as Donna Haraway employs it in her
seminal essay "A Manifesto for Cyborgs" (1991) and subsequently explores the term's impact upon
four other "pillars of humanity:" philosophy, sexuality, politics, and composition through the lens of the
cyborgean narrator.
Each section includes a chapter of comic illustrations, a "narrative" or essay of the keyword's impact
upon the featured topic, and links in the essay to related external content. A featured
SoundCloud player is embedded in the bottom of the page to accompany the installment.
Content Warning:
Please be warned that this comic does include some graphic content, including discussion revolving
around sexuality, anatomy, politics, philosophy, and identity. If you are sensitive to any of these topics
